The Blenders, under the direction of Jonathan Albertini, accepted an invitation by conductor Deke Sharon to participate in a performance of Contemporary A Cappella on the DCINY Concert Series in New York City’s Carnegie Hall on 29th March. The sold out concert was one of the highlights in Blenders’ History. The boys spent a week in a freezing cold NY but had a ball. In a thank you note Deke Sharon said: “I don’t think the audience knew what hit them. When you all sang so powerfully from your hearts, the audience was swept away. For two hours the room was full of laughs, tears, true joy, and by the end undoubtedly some newly inspired singers. In other words, WE DID IT!” Back home again and after recovering from jet lag the boys are getting ready for ANZAC DAY performances at Coolangatta and Southport. If you want to sing with an 80+ member large choir, just drop in one Monday night.
